Basketball Recap: Mentor Extends Winning Streak to Five

Mentor had won four straight games and Kobe Frasure-Azzano did his part to make it five on Friday. The Mentor Cardinals enjoyed a cozy 86-67 victory over the Shaker Heights Red Raiders thanks in part to Frasure-Azzano, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

Another player making a difference was Jack Kennedy, who posted ten points along with eight assists and four steals. He has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times he's played.

Despite the loss, Shaker Heights still got an impressive performance from John Horn, who went 8 of 19 en route to 20 points and eight boards. That's the most rebounds Horn has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacire Eaddy, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points.

Mentor's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Shaker Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Mentor wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 76-53 loss against Strongsville on the 4th. As for Shaker Heights, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-51 victory against Bedford on the 4th.
