It was a good run, but  the Fort Chiswell Pioneers unfortunately witnessed the end of their  three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell  69-58 to George Wythe. Fort Chiswell has not had much luck with the Maroons recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
 Fort Chiswell lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Blair Jackson, who  scored 21 points along with five  assists. Jackson hasn't dropped below 19 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was  Sadie Robinson, who  scored 13 points along with three  steals.
 Fort Chiswell's defeat  ended  a  12-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 13-4. As for George Wythe, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with that  victory, which was their 13th straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Chiswell will  challenge the Maroon Tide at 7:15  p.m.  on Monday. As for George Wythe, they will head out on the road to  square off against  the Blue Devils at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Grayson County will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Maroons are ranked 58th).
