There's no place like home for the Sparta Spartans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They secured a 38-33 W over La Crosse Central on Friday. This was payback for Sparta, who suffered a 57-41 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Sparta found their leader in underclassman Izzy Mickelson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mickelson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elexa Jones, who scored four points along with five assists and five steals.
Sparta's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for La Crosse Central, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-10.
Sparta will square off against Holmen at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Crosse Central, they will be playing at home against Onalaska at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Onalaska has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three games.
