Clearfield is a perfect 10-0 against Northridge since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Knights at 3:30 p.m. Clearfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.
Clearfield will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Viewmont on Tuesday. The Falcons blew past the Vikings 18-4. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by ten runs or more this season.
Jenna Lloyd made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Alexandra Bingham was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Skylar Davis was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Clearfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Viewmont only posted an OBP of .400.
Meanwhile, Northridge hadn't done well against Roy recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Royals. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since March 10th.
Aubrey Solomon looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Kiersten Carbone was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Clearfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Northridge, their record is now 5-6.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Clearfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .387. However, it's not like Northridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Clearfield was able to grind out a solid win over Northridge in their previous matchup back in March, winning 15-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
