The Commerce Tigers lost against the Franklin County Lions back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Commerce fell just short of Franklin County by a score of 57-54.
Commerce's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Peters, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Maki Mitchell, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
Commerce has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Franklin County, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Commerce will challenge Banks County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Banks County is ranked 267th, while Commerce is ranked 271st). Franklin County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Seneca focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Wednesday.
