Joppa-Maple Grove is 0-10 against Century since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Joppa-Maple Grove Rangers will be staying on the road to face off against the Century Centurions at 6:00 p.m. on December 14th. Joppa-Maple Grove comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Monday, Joppa-Maple Grove took a serious blow against Pope County, falling 65-23.
Meanwhile, Century waltzed into Tuesday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 63-33 victory over Murphysboro. Considering Century has won five games by more than 29 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Karleigh Jones, who scored 17 points along with eight steals. The game was her ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Navaeh Mackins, who scored seven points along with 11 steals and six rebounds.
Joppa-Maple Grove's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Century, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Joppa-Maple Grove came up short against Century in their previous matchup back in February, falling 50-39. Can Joppa-Maple Grove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
