A Season-Best Effort from Trace Kopper Leads Cimarron over Southwestern Heights
Cimarron was led to victory by Trace Kopper, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Kopper rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and also threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. Cimarron is 2-1 when Kopper posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise.
Southwestern Heights had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Kopper it was a similar story. When Kopper last faced the Mustangs back in October of 2023, he rushed for 247 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 63 yards and a touchdown on perfect 5-for-5 passing.

McCoy Nash produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Cimarron to the win on Friday. Nash rushed for 171 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries.

Korbin Johnson was a major factor in Holcomb's victory over Hugoton on Friday. Johnson turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 174 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.
For the year, Johnson has averaged 43.6 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he had two rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to 12.

Keegan Johnson Makes It Two for Holcomb
The second Holcomb player making an appearance here is Keegan Johnson, and for good reason. He rushed for 29 yards and two touchdowns.
Johnson is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Southwestern Heights on Friday. Johnson threw for 182 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 6-for-6 passing, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground the last time he and the Mustangs duked it out back in October of 2023.
