Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Gage Robinson, who picked up 147 receiving yards and a touchdown. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 62 yards. Another passer making a difference was Jayden Stoddard, who threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt.
Meanwhile, Oakville was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Chief Leschi 50-14 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Acorns just coasted through the last quarter.
Oakville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniel Rodas out in front who picked up 197 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Rodas also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception. Ben Kimbrel was another key player, gaining 216 total yards and three touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Oakville's defense and their eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Dre Kluth and Lewis Thompson, who racked up six sacks between them.
Wahkiakum's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Oakville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
