The Franklin County Wildcats were the 55-53 winner over the Union County Patriots when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Franklin County fell just short of Union County by a score of 44-42.
Franklin County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Kemp, who scored 16 points. The match was Kemp's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eli Butt, who scored 14 points.
Franklin County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Union County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin County will take on Hauser at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hauser is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Union County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastern Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Eastern Hancock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
