After flying high against Flandreau Indian  last Tuesday, Alcester-Hudson came back down to earth. The Cubs fell just short of the Viborg/Hurley Cougars by a score of  3-2 on Monday. The Cubs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in November of 2024.
 In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Alcester-Hudson sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 22-25, 25-23, 24-26,  15-10.
Alcester-Hudson's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Viborg/Hurley, their victory  ended  an  11-match drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 6-21.
 Looking ahead, Alcester-Hudson will square off against Freeman at 7:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. Viborg/Hurley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
