Mayfield had won four straight road games and Alejandro Santos did his part to make it five on Friday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Lions with a sharp 3-0 victory for which the team can thank Santos, who had six aces and four digs. Those aces marked the first that he served this season.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Mayfield took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-11, 25-10.

Mayfield's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Mayfield has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Chardon on the 14th. As for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Cuyahoga Falls on the 14th.
