After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bellmont, the South Adams Starfires were happy to have found some success on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 53-26 victory over Southern Wells. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory South Adams has managed all season.
South Adams was led to victory by Liz Gerber and Macy Pries. Gerber scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Pries scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. The matchup was Pries' tenth in a row with at least ten points.
South Adams' victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Southern Wells, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
South Adams will head out on the road to face off against Adams Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Adams Central is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home. Southern Wells will take on Heritage at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
