The North Rose-Wolcott Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by Lyons on the road and fell 80-21. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss North Rose-Wolcott has suffered yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lyons to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayla Bell, who dropped a triple-double on 31 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. That's the first time this season that Bell posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Car'mella Parker, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
North Rose-Wolcott bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.7 points per game. As for Lyons, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
North Rose-Wolcott will head out on the road to take on Geneva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lyons won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Greece Arcadia at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. Greece Arcadia comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
