Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hagerman walked away with it. They breezed past the Potlatch Loggers to the tune of 64-20 on Friday. Considering the Pirates have won seven games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Hagerman found their leader in sophomore Casen Knight, who rushed for 265 yards and five scores on only 15 carries, and also picked up 87 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 265 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Knight. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Mavencamp, who rushed for 85 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries.
Hagerman was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 350 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Hagerman didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Knight. He also punched in five rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Hagerman is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise.
Hagerman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 9.44 yards per carry in those games compared to only 2.77 in the others. As for Potlatch, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
As of now, neither Hagerman nor the Loggers have any future games scheduled.
