Kenwood has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Patapsco Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Kenwood will be strutting in after a win while the Patriots will be coming in after a loss.
Kenwood scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Lansdowne 72-49.
Andrew Otuyelu and Neo Feehan were among the main playmakers for Kenwood as the former scored 18 points along with three steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. Feehan hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for four straight games. Austin Mbuyi was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Patapsco's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They lost to Catonsville at home by a decisive 56-42 margin. Patapsco has not had much luck with the Comets recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Kenwood pushed their record up to 10-8 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.9 points per game. As for Patapsco, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Kenwood won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, slipping by the Patriots 55-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kenwood since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
