It was a good run, but the North Wilkes Vikings unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Watauga, falling 71-36.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Watauga to victory, but perhaps none more so than Charlotte Torgerson, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Sears, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals.
North Wilkes' loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Watauga, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
North Wilkes will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against East Wilkes at 7:00 p.m. As for Watauga, they will head out on the road to face off against Avery County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Avery County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
