Abingdon is 10-0 against Lee since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Abingdon Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Lee Generals at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Abingdon is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lee in Virginia (Abingdon is ranked 34th, while Lee is ranked 269th).
Abingdon unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 58-46 to Ridgeview.
Meanwhile, Lee suffered a tough 70-48 loss at the hands of Rye Cove on Tuesday. Lee has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lee might have lost, but man, Kinley Huff was a machine: she scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 60.4% of Lee's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Bishop, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Abingdon's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-5. As for Lee, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Abingdon strolled past Lee in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 81-67. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Lee's Cassidy Hammonds, who scored 23 points along with four steals.
