Big VIII recap December 3, 2013
Centennial extended the longest winning streak in Big VIII this week by beating Upland, 86-56. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Huskies.
Norco fell to Vista Murrieta 56-19 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cory Young ran for 123 yards in the defeat.
Centennial's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Robert Webber threw for 235 and 2 touchdowns and Greyson Bankhead had 67 yards receiving. On the ground Tre Watson contributed 519 yards. Barry Ware helped Centennial's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 64 yards.
Watson was a beast in the backfield as Matt Logan's team defeated the Highlanders/Scots.
Watson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Huskies topped Upland. Watson's favorite target this week was Bankhead, who caught 3 passes for 67 yards.
Watson was the best running back in the league this week. In 40 carries, he ran for 519 yards as Centennial topped Tim Salter's team. Teammate Webber added to the ground attack by rushing for 125 yards.
Centennial's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Huskies feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Webber has thrown for 3,282 yards and 32 touchdowns this season, while Ware has 40 catches for 1,030 yards.
Nick Gibson has rushed for 989 yards on 160 carries so far this year.
He has recorded 57 catches for 995 yards this year.
The Huskies led the league in scoring this week by notching 86 points on the Highlanders/Scots. Watson in the win.
