Gresham barely beat Aloha the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Gophers put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 15-5 victory on Wednesday. Kaveri-Kepanie Tuala was a standout: she fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Daya Nelson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Tuala wasn't the only one making solid contact: Gresham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aloha only managed nine hits.
The win (which was Gresham's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Aloha, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
Gresham and Aloha will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Gophers will take on rival Clackamas at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Aloha is set to square off against their familiar foe Sunset at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
