Winters Mill is 0-7 against Westminster since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Winters Mill Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Westminster Owls at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Winters Mill sitting on eight straight victories and Westminster on six.
Last Friday, Winters Mill narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Manchester Valley 10-7.
Meanwhile, Westminster didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Liberty on Friday, but they still walked away with a 21-17 victory.
Winters Mill's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Century and 1-7 Francis Scott Key (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 26.9% over those games). As for Westminster, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Winters Mill ended up a good deal behind Westminster in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, losing 28-10. Can Winters Mill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
