The Greenville Comets had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their match at home on Saturday with ease, bagging a 68-39 win over Vandalia. Greenville's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Katie Campbell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. She is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Shayna Henderson, who scored 16 points along with eight assists and three steals.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Greenville, bringing their record for this year to 19-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Vandalia, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-22.
Greenville will take on Mater Dei at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mater Dei knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Greenville likes a good challenge. Vandalia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
