Basketball Recap: Roy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Sky View

Roy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sky View Bobcats. One positive for the Royals, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Royals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rihanna May, who went 7 for 16 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds. Jerzee Hart was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards.

Even though they lost, Roy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Roy's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Sky View, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Roy will host Davis at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Sky View, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bear River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
