Adi Rinker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Saint James waltzed into their contest on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Owls.
Lily Schlotterbeck ?26 made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Schlotterbeck ?26 was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tenley Mullendore ?27, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases and four runs. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carli Mazaleski ?25, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Saint James kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
Saint James pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Mercersburg Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Mercersburg Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441.
