Cheyenne Mountain is a perfect 4-0 against Doherty since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Red-Tailed Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. Cheyenne Mountain has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
While Cheyenne Mountain's win against Liberty wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red-Tailed Hawks narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lancers 13-11. The Red-Tailed Hawks haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Nate Glad, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jansen Roberts, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Cheyenne Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty only managed ten hits.
Meanwhile, Doherty didn't have quite enough to beat Pine Creek on Thursday and fell 4-3. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.
Cooper Settle was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Doherty: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-9 otherwise.
Cheyenne Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 13-7-1. As for Doherty, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cheyenne Mountain hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. However, it's not like Doherty struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
