Despite their  loss, Hampton Roads Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Kenzie Cooper, who  went 12-for-30  to rack up 29  points and seven  boards, was perhaps the best of all. Those 29 points gave  Cooper a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Nalani Carter, who  went 5-for-10  on her way to 12  points along with six  rebounds and five  assists.
 Even though they lost, Hampton Roads Academy  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with ten  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive  games.
 Meanwhile, The Covenant waltzed into their contest  on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged the Springers out  46-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Eagles have posted  since February 1, 2024.
 The Covenant pushed their record up to 18-6 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. As for Hampton Roads Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-3.
