The Sound Christian Lions had to endure a ten-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-16 win over Muckleshoot Tribal. The victory was just what Sound Christian needed coming off of a 80-0 defeat in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sound Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samuel Hunt, who picked up 134 receiving yards, and also rushed for 125 yards. Hunt's longest reception was for an incredible 97 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Avan Greenwood, who threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.
Sound Christian's win bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Muckleshoot Tribal, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Sound Christian will head out on the road to face off against Neah Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neah Bay is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games. Muckleshoot Tribal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
