Ardmore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elgin Owls. On the bright side, the three- run effort marked the Tigers' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Ardmore's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Elgin, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Elgin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-2 defeat against Fletcher on the 9th. Hopefully Ardmore paid attention to the Owls' game: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Owls at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
