Brooks College Prep (Chicago, Ill.) took an early lead against Marshall (Chicago, Ill.) and held on for a 49-8 victory on Saturday.
In the first quarter, the Eagles put up seven points. Brooks College Prep scored on a
Luther Lockwood touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a Lockwood touchdown run in the first quarter, BCP was up 21-8 at the half.
The Eagles grew their lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. Brooks College Prep scored three times in the third, including once on a
Tyree Dantzler touchdown pass to
Gerald Scott.
Dantzler was the top performer for BCP. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns.
Marshall's only touchdown came on a 6-yard run in the second quarter.
The loss comes after Marshall defeated John Hope College Prep 46-0 last week. With the win the Eagles extended their winning streak to four games. The loss snapped Marshall's two-game winning streak.
In a Chicago Public Illini - Heartland game next week Marshall (3-2) takes on Austin Poly/Austin Business & Entrepreneurship/VOISE Academy, and Brooks College Prep (4-1) will go up against John Hope College Prep also in a Chicago Public Illini - Heartland game.
