The White River Hornets are taking a road trip to take on the Beamer Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. White River is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.8 runs per game this season.
White River barely beat Cedarcrest the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hornets put the hurt on the Red Wolves with a sharp 15-2 victory on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hornets considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Laken Elvig made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, McKenna Charlton was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Alexa Hansen was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
White River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 14 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Beamer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against Decatur, falling 16-4.
Beamer saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nellie Jokinen, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Another was Ayris Thurman, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Beamer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for White River, their record now sits at 14-3.
Beamer's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. White River has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Beamer, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will White River keep running through batters, or will the Titans buck the trend?
Everything went White River's way against Beamer when the teams last played back in April, as White River made off with a 21-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
