DeMatha and Bishop McNamara are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Stags will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in DeMatha's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Bishop McNamara has been banged up by 11 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
DeMatha is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Bishop Ireton 15-1 on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Stags considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Luke Brabazon looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four games.
On the hitting side, DeMatha let Brooks Franklin and Johnathan Coombs run wild. Franklin went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Coombs scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Coombs has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Franklin Zerpa, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.
DeMatha kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Ireton only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Bishop McNamara might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Our Lady of Good Counsel who claimed the real prize. The Mustangs fell 10-6 to the Falcons.
Willis Coppedge made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Bishop McNamara is 2-1 when Coppedge posts two or more runs, but 1-8 otherwise. Antonio Fleites was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
DeMatha has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Bishop McNamara, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Bishop McNamara's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. DeMatha has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Bishop McNamara, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will DeMatha keep running through batters, or will the Mustangs buck the trend?
