The St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Chickasaw 60-55. The matchup was a 30-30 toss-up at halftime, but St. Luke's Episcopal was outscored by Chickasaw in the second.
Chickasaw found their leader in underclassman Sydrus Gilmore, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of JaVon Mose, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
St. Luke's Episcopal's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-6. As for Chickasaw, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Luke's Episcopal will take on Blacksher at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chickasaw, they will head out on the road to face off against Washington County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington County is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
