Football Game Preview: Grayson Rams vs. Carrollton Trojans

Two dominant signal callers in Travis Burgess and Julian Lewis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After both having extra time off, the Grayson Rams and the Carrollton Trojans will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Grayson sitting on 13 straight wins and Carrollton on 14.

Grayson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Friday. They came out on top against Douglas County by a score of 35-28.

Grayson found their leader in sophomore Tyler Atkinson, who made 26 total tackles (2.0 for loss). The dominant performance also gave Joel Bradford a new career-high in rushing yards (75). Alex Sanchez was another key player, picking up 132 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Last Friday fans watched as two of the best teams in the nation hit the field. Carrollton walked away with a 30-17 victory over Buford.

Carrollton's win came from a few key players Grayson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kimauri Farmer, who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lewis, who threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Carrollton pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.7 points. As for Grayson, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.

Wednesday's match might be decided in the on the ground. Grayson has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 190.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Carrollton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 153.7 rushing yards. It's looking like Wednesday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
