Crystal Lake Central suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against McHenry, falling 69-28. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Crystal Lake Central in their matchups with McHenry: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Crystal Lake Central had strong showings from Avery Lee, who scored nine points, and Jake Terlecki, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Prairie Ridge's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 64-45 bruising from Jacobs. Prairie Ridge was down 51-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Crystal Lake Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Prairie Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.
Things could have been worse for Crystal Lake Central, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-36 loss to Prairie Ridge in their previous matchup back in December of 2023.
