Hondo Valley may have come out ahead in their last contest, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. On Friday they will take on Elida at 2:00 PM. The teams both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Hondo Valley took the matchup and then some with a 89-40 victory over Lake Arthur last Friday. The rankings were on Hondo Valley's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
Meanwhile, Elida put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. They steamrollered San Jon/Grady 67-20. The win was familiar territory for Elida, who now have six in a row.
Their wins bumped Elida to 7-1 and Hondo Valley to 3-5. After the lofty point totals in their previous games, we'll see if they're able to heat things up even more while facing each other.
