The Calais Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Mattanawcook 57-19. Calais lost against Mattanawcook in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 53-38 score last time.
Despite the loss, Calais still got an impressive performance from Brenna Critchley, who scored six points.
Calais' loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Mattanawcook, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0.
Calais will take on Narraguagus at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mattanawcook, they will head out on the road to face off against Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
