Contreras will be defending their home turf for the first time on Thursday when they go up against Sotomayor at 4:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Everything went Contreras's way against Gabrielino last Friday as they made off with a 27-0 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Contreras had established a 21-0 advantage.
Meanwhile, Sotomayor had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 0-26 punch to the gut against Marquez on Friday.
Contreras's victory lifted them to 1-1 while Sotomayor's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Contreras can add another positive mark to their record or if Sotomayor can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Contreras's step.
