Eastern Greene is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past South Decatur 41-20. The Thunderbirds' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastern Greene to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eli Engleking, who rushed for 88 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 83 receiving yards. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Engleking a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Bryson Jones, who gained 136 total yards and a touchdown.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Eastern Greene proved: they limited South Decatur to a paltry 3.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Demetrian Bowlen for the heroic effort on defense: he. Eastern Greene's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.8.

Meanwhile, Milan blew past Madison, posting a 37-7 win. Considering the Indians have won four contests by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Eastern Greene better focus on containing Grant Langferman and Beckett Langferman as the pair were huge in Milan's win. Grant rushed for 113 yards and three TDs on only six carries, while Beckett rushed for 220 yards and one score while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Grant really tore up the turf during one magnificent 92-yard run.
One reason for the win was Milan's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Langferman, Zane Richardson, and Kayden Steele, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Eastern Greene moved to 2-8 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Milan, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
