Westminster has struggled against Costa Mesa recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Westminster's defeat came about despite a quality game from Matt Tran, who scored 16 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals. Tran continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Eric Hoang was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with 6 rebounds.
Savanna's victory bumped their season record to 3-3 while Saddleback's defeat dropped theirs to 3-7.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Savanna hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 55.5 points per game.
