The North Community Polars will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Roosevelt Teddies at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. One thing working in North Community's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
Even though North Community has not done well against the Lakers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. North Community walked away with a 70-61 victory over the Lakers. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Roosevelt strolled past the Tigers with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 39-23. Given Roosevelt's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Tigers are ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Olivia Wren continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaida Walker, who scored nine points along with two steals.
North Community's record now sits at 11-7. As for Roosevelt, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6.
North Community might still be hurting after the 60-34 defeat they got from the Teddies in their previous meeting back in January. Can North Community avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
