A feisty cat fight will be fought as Starks Panthers  challenge  Lake Arthur Tigers at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Both come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
On Thursday, Starks needed a bit of extra time to put away Singer. They came out on top against the Hornets by a score of  9-6. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Panthers.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Arthur). They blew past Abbeville 18-5 on Saturday. With that  win, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.9  runs per game.
 Layla Gauthier was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  tossed one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Gauthier was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in March of 2024.
 In other batting news, Lake Arthur let  Miraya Thibodeaux and  Kenli Garcia run wild. Thibodeaux  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3, while  Garcia  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances. What's more,  Thibodeaux posted three  RBI, the most she's  had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Addison Abshire, who  scored a  run and  stole  Three bases. while going 1-for-2.
 Lake Arthur was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Abbeville only posted a  batting average of  .211.
 Lake Arthur's victory  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 5-5. As for Starks, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
 Starks beat Lake Arthur 13-9  when the teams last played  back in March of 2023. Will Starks repeat their success,  or does  Lake Arthur have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
