The Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by South Central at home and fell 54-12. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northside - Jacksonville in their matchups with South Central: they've now lost six in a row.
Diamond Stephens was Northside - Jacksonville's leading scorer, having posted four points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sabraya Baker, who scored 14 points along with six steals. Baker hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Brooklynne Evans, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds.
Northside - Jacksonville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for South Central, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.
Northside - Jacksonville will head out on the road to face off against D.H. Conley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Central, they will be playing at home against Havelock at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Havelock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 259th, while South Central is ranked 24th).
