Even though Vine Christian Academy scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, 212 Sports Academy still came out on top. 212 Sports Academy secured a 62-58 W over Vine Christian Academy. The win was nothing new for 212 Sports Academy as they're now sitting on three straight.
212 Sports Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jovan Jovanovic, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Jovanovic continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Adrian Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 12 rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, even though Central Pointe Christian Academy scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, ABF Academy still came out on top. ABF Academy was the clear victor by a 85-62 margin over Central Pointe Christian Academy. The win was all the more spectacular given ABF Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Central Pointe Christian Academy is ranked 21st).
212 Sports Academy's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points per game. As for ABF Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
212 Sports Academy beat ABF Academy 80-69 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for 212 Sports Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
