The Navasota Rattlers will be playing at home against the Brazosport Exporters at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brazosport took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Navasota, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Navasota didn't have too much trouble with Stafford on the road as they won 28-10.
Navasota relied on the efforts of Jamal Thomas, who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown, and Javyn Jessie, who rushed for six yards and two touchdowns. Cameron Ross also helped out with an impressive 118 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Brazosport, who are still winless after their eighth match. They took a 14-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stafford on October 13th.
Despite their defeat, Brazosport saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Toric Goins, who gained 169 total yards, was perhaps the best of all.
Navasota's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Brazosport, their loss was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8.
Navasota came up short against Brazosport in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 33-27. Thankfully for Navasota, Randon Fontenette (who threw for 114 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground) won't be suiting up this time.
