The First Baptist School Hurricanes pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Woodland by a score of 67-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Sunday (58), First Baptist School still had to take the loss.
Woodland was led to victory by Tyree Edwards and JaKease Salley. Edwards scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, while Salley dropped a double-double on 20 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Travon Tate, who scored 12 points.
This is the second loss in a row for First Baptist School and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Woodland, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Baptist School will challenge Stratford at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodland, they will head out on the road to face off against Goose Creek at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Goose Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 277 points over their last four matches.
