The Reading Rangers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bronson Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Reading focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Reading had to settle for a 42-40 defeat against Springport. Reading has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Reading saw an underclassman step up: Brayden Wright scored 18 points along with 4 steals. Wright scored a full 45% of Reading's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brady Kling was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Bronson entered their tilt with Union City with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Bronson snuck past Union City with a 45-40 victory on Friday.
Among those leading the charge was Kamron Brackett, who scored 24 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Warner Wotta, who scored 6 points.
Reading now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Bronson, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's game: Reading have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 5.7 threes per game. It's a different story for Bronson, though, as they've been averaging only 4 per game. Given Reading's sizeable advantage in that area, Bronson will need to find a way to close that gap. Reading took a serious blow against Bronson in their previous meeting back in February, falling 74-35. Thankfully for Reading, Aden Hathaway (who scored 29 points along with 8 steals and 7 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
