In what's become a running theme this season, the McKeel Academy Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Discovery 53-12 at home. That 41 points margin sets a new team best for McKeel Academy this season.
Leading McKeel Academy to victory were Sydney Jackson and Ava Anderson. Jackson scored ten points along with six assists and two steals, while Anderson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. Kiley Earle was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
McKeel Academy's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-9. As for Discovery, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKeel Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ridgeview Global Studies Academy at 5:45 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Ridgeview Global Studies Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 last Wednesday. As for Discovery, they will head out on the road to square off against Sebring at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
