Basketball Recap: University Extends Winning Streak to Three

University waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Booker T. Washington Warriors 71-55. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-39 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead University to victory, but perhaps none more so than Edniya White, who almost dropped a triple-double on 18 points, ten assists, and nine steals. The game was White's third in a row with at least ten points. Kalina Lambert was another key player, going 10 for 16 on her way to 23 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

White wasn't the only one working in the assists department: University was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Booker T. Washington only posted one assist.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Antaniya Britt, who went 6 of 7 en route to 16 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Britt is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leanna Carpenter, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points.

University has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Booker T. Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

University will be playing in front of their home fans against Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Booker T. Washington, they will head out on the road to challenge Craigmont at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
