The Newport Buffaloes's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They snuck past Susquenita with a 42-37 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Newport, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Ruben Moreno was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 14 points along with seven steals. Tyler Gardner was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
The win got Newport back to even at 1-1. As for Susquenita, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Newport and Juniata will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Susquenita, they will head out on the road to face off against Millersburg at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Millersburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday.
