Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Craig County). They walked away with a 45-37 win over the Faith Christian Warriors on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rockets as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Faith Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Savannah Green dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 45.9% of Faith Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Ava Glaze was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Craig County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Faith Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Craig County will be playing in front of their home fans against Highland at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Faith Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Lynchburg HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Faith Christian is facing Lynchburg HomeSchool at the right time seeing as Lynchburg HomeSchool is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
