The Page Patriots are taking a road trip to face off against the Independence Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Page is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Page earned a 6-2 victory over Franklin. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Admirals: they've now won six in a row.
Ashley Johnson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. Johnson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Adriana Callahan was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Anna Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Independence came out on top against Centennial on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Cougars. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Cougars on their field since April 27, 2022.
The team relied heavily on Piper Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Taylor Schmidt, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Independence hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 8-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Independence has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-14 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Page, their record is now 13-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Page hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Independence struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Page was able to grind out a solid victory over Independence in their previous matchup on April 1st, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
